SUPPORTING AND EMPOWERING THE NEW GENERATION
The FabuArmy started during Mixer Live streams at the beginning of 2020. The FabuRocks family had over 200 people during weekdays live stream and sometimes thousands on weekends, where hundreds of kids wanted to play with Fabu. Normally, FabuDad and the old members of the FabuFam, are the ones that play with Fabu to avoid unacceptable behavior (like bullying and the use of profanity) from people that the Family doesn’t know. The fact was that Fabu wanted to play with as many kids as possible, so as a joke, Fabu would ask people to add FABU in front of their gamer tag, and then she would play with them. She honestly didn’t believe that anyone would do it, but lots of kids were doing it for her. For the first time, FabuMom had to implement a game queue for all those who had Fabu in their name to have an opportunity to play. During one Saturday live stream, another Mixer streamer hung out on chat and noticed so many people with a Fabu in front of their name and asked why so many had Fabu in their name, and that’s how the FabuArmy name was born.
In the weeks thereafter, more FabuArmy members became involved during each live stream, that an XBOX fan club was opened as a tool for those players to post their game clips. During Monday’s stream, the FabuRocks family would share those clips with everyone as a way to empower and support those kids to continue positively using gaming.
The FabuRocks family soon realized that many of those kids had a big interest in creating content, but they didn’t know-how. Most especially did not know how to communicate that interest to their parents to receive support similar to what FabuDad and FabuMom were giving to Fabu. That lack of communication and understanding between many parents and kids was something that FabuDad and FabuMom had found during the PAX events in 2019 while at the gaming events Fabu was participating in. They also found many talented kids did not have a good headset or a good keyboard to play and create content.
It was easy to understand what all those kids needed and how the FabuRocks family could help. This was when the FabuArmy was officially founded.
